Chicago Attractions

Chicago is an exciting city — and as such, offers a smorgasbord of things to see, activities to do, and places to go.  And from the central location provided by the host hotel, the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, all activities are no further than a train or cab ride away.

In addition to the traditional customized Select Group Tour Excursions, we’re pleased to offer ideas for “On Your Own” Adventures.  They make for a great excuse to come to Conference a little early or stay a little late — and can provide the perfect family summer vacation around the Notary Event of the Year.

Both the “On Your Own” Adventures and Select Group Tour Excursions offer unique ways to discover Chicago — NNA style.

Mini Shuttle
Hyatt McCormick Place offers a mini shuttle with complimentary service on the hour to a variety of places.  The Shuttle leaves every hour and guests must sign up at the Concierge Desk one hour in advance.  Shuttle does not offer return service, but guests can take a cab back for a nominal fee.  Stops include:

  • Water Tower: Guests can enjoy the shopping and sightseeing of the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue).
  • Navy Pier: A true highlight of the Chicago area!  Navy Pier is perfect for a night of group fun.  The area includes restaurants, shopping and a variety of entertainment.  Summer nights often include a fireworks display and lots of live entertainment.
  • Museum Campus: Just a few minutes ride from the Hyatt McCormick Place, guests can choose a variety of attractions on Museum Campus.    The Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum of Natural History and the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum are near by.

Metra Rail
Hyatt McCormick Place is connected to the Metra Rail System (ME Metra Electric District) which allows guests to connect to a variety of areas throughout Illinois.  However, the Metra is also great for some local stops as well.  For under $3.00 per ride, guests can take the train to a variety of local stops such as:

  • Museum Campus (see above.)
  • Millennium Station: Guests can marvel at the beautiful Millennium Park and all of the variety of large scale art that is housed within the grounds.  The Art Institute of Chicago is also located within reach as well as “The Loop”, downtown Chicago District, with excellent restaurants and shopping including the famous Chicago Department Store, Marshall Fields (now Macy’s).  Easy connections available to Chicago’s CTA Public Transportation System.

Cab
Any of the above attractions can easily be reached by cab as well between 5 – 15 minutes.

Chicago Style Pizza
Chicago style deep-dish pizza is usually two or three inches thick with a heavy crust and a more casserole-like layer upon layer of cheese, meat and sauce.
