CONFERENCE BASICS
Who attends NNA Conference?
Notaries Public from coast-to-coast, employers of Notaries, Notary Signing Agents, Trusted Enrollment Agents, representatives of state governments, and special guests including the NNA Notary of the Year and Keynote speakers. And, with all of the sights, tours, and fun things to see and do in Chicago — not to mention the many bargain discount programs at this year’s Conference — you may want to bring the whole family!
What can I expect from the Conference?
The NNA Conference is “The Notary Event of the Year” and offers educational workshops to help build your skills, your business and your knowledge, introduces you to new and exciting income opportunities, and provides the world’s largest arena for Notary networking.
What is the Conference schedule?
Chicago is an exciting city with lots to offer NNA Conference delgates, including the free Chicago Blues Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13. The official Conference schedule begins on Monday, June 14 with Pre-conference workshops and the Welcome Reception. Tuesday, June 15, Wednesday, June 16, and Thursday, June 17, have a full schedule each day with a General Session followed by breakout workshops. How do I register for the Conference?
CLICK HERE to register online or call the NNA toll-free at 1-800-US NOTARY (1-800-876-6827). Online registrations may be submitted electronically with credit card information or a registration form may be downloaded and faxed or mailed with credit card information or check made out to the “National Notary Association.”
May I register onsite at the Conference?
Conference Registration, Guest and Day Passes will be available for purchase on-site, however the NNA Member Discounts will not apply to any registration purchase received after June 11, 2010.
What is the cost for Conference registration?
Full Registration for the 32nd Annual NNA Conference is $498 for NNA members (a $100 discount) and $598 for non-members who register prior to June 11, 2010. Day Pass Registration is $175 per day for NNA members (a $75 discount) and $250 per day for non-members. Registration for the following Pre-Conference Workshops is $99 per workshop: “Trusted Notary Certification,” “Building Your Business in a Tough Market,” and “Essential Skills for Illinois Notaries.” Registration for “What Every Employer Needs to Know About Notarial Liability” and “Making the Most of Your NNA Membership” Pre-Conference Workshops is free of charge but an R.S.V.P. is encouraged to guarantee you a seat.
May I attend the Conference if I am not an NNA member?
While the NNA offers its members a discount, the Conference is open to everyone. To take advantage of the member discount, you may join the NNA by CLICKING HERE, or call the NNA toll-free: 1-800-US NOTARY (1-800-876-6827).
May I bring a spouse or friend to the Conference?
Yes. Your guest may join you at the Welcome Reception, the Gala Banquet and Final Farewell Event with a Guest Pass purchase. However, appropriate Conference registration is required for your guest to attend any Conference workshops. A Complete Guest Pass is $198 per guest. Are members of the media able to attend the Conference?
To receive a Media Credential, all interested parties must contact the NNA for clearance. Please contact Jim Wunderlich at 1-818-739-4080.
When do I check-in for the Conference once I’m at the hotel?
All Conference attendees must check-in at Conference Registration to receive their Conference materials, including the name badge that serves as your ID during the Conference. Early registration will be open 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13. Conference Registration will be open daily, June 14-June 17 at the following times: Monday, June 14, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Tuesday, June 15 and Wednesday, June 16, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Thursday, June 17, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS
I need to cancel my Conference Registration, am I entitled to a refund?
Yes, provided that the request for cancellation is submitted in writing (no eMails, please) to the NNA before April 30, 2010. Written refund fund requests received May 1 through May 22, 2010 will be assessed a $50 service charge. No refunds will be granted for requests received after May 23, 2010. This policy applies to Conference Registration, Guest Passes, Day Passes, and Excursions.

What is the hotel room rate?
NNA Conference attendees receive the special Conference room rate of only $99, if the room reservation is made prior to May 13, 2010. After that date, the Conference room rate of $99 is subject to change and availability.
How do I make my hotel reservation?
CLICK HERE or call the hotel reservations line directly at 1-888-421-1442. Be sure to mention you are an NNA Conference attendee and will be attending the National Notary Association’s Annual Conference to receive the specially-arranged room rate of only $99. Prior to May 13, 2010.
May I request my room be on a specific floor?
Specific requests will be granted as hotel space permits. Please make these requests when you make your room reservation.
May I use my Hyatt Passport Points at this hotel?
Yes. Please inform the hotel when you make your reservation. If your reservation is made online, you will be able to input your Hyatt Passport Points card number during the reservation process.
Is the Hyatt McCormick Place a pet-friendly hotel?
Hotel guests are not permitted to bring pets.

ONLINE REGISTRATION
How do I register online?
CLICK HERE to register online. Registrations may be submitted electronically or the form may be downloaded and mailed to the NNA with credit card information or a check made payable to “National Notary Association.” Mail registration and payment to: National Notary Association, P.O. Box 541032, Los Angeles, CA 90054-1032.
Is the NNA Conference site secure? I’m concerned about giving credit card information online.
Yes. Your private information is used only for registration purposes. The NNA does not sell any of its members or customers information.

What is the dress code for the Conference?
The dress code for all daytime events is Business Casual. Business Casual means attire that is suitable for wear to a place of business. Denim (jeans), shorts, sweatshirts or pants (regardless of name brand), leggings, descriptive T-shirts (i.e. wording or pictures across the front and/or back), athletic shoes (sneakers or tennis shoes) or hats of any type are not appropriate Business Casual attire. When regarding your outfit choices, please keep in mind that the Annual NNA Conference is a professional event.
What is the appropriate attire for the Welcome Reception, Gala Banquet, and Farewell Event?
Cocktail attire is encouraged for all men and women attending all evening functions related to the Conference.
What happens if I lose my Conference badge?
Badges may be replaced by completing a badge replacement form at the Conference registration desk. 24 hours is required to duplicate a lost badge. You will be given a temporary pass once your registration has been verified.
I can only attend a couple of workshops. Do I have to pay the entire registration price?
No. Conference Day Passes are available for $175 per day, per person ($250 for non-NNA members). If you want to attend one workshop one day, and another on another day, two Day Passes will need to be purchased.
Will Notary supplies be available for purchase at the Conference?
Yes. From seal stamps and journals to supply totes and business cards, you’ll have the opportunity to stock up on what you need for a successful career. Free shipping is available for all NNA supply purchases made at the Conference.
May I use cash to purchase supplies at the Conference?
Yes. Cash, credit cards, checks or money orders are acceptable.
Are any meals included with my registration?
Yes. Coffee and tea service will be provided Monday morning, and a continental breakfast will be available each following morning, June 15-17. Food and beverages are included at the Welcome Reception and Final Farewell Event and a sit-down dinner will be served at the Gala Banquet. In addition to food service, two complimentary drinks are provided for you at the Welcome Reception and Farewell Event. Wine will be provided at the Gala Banquet in lieu of complimentary drink tickets, however a Cash Bar will be made available as well. Lunch breaks will be provided each day of the Conference, allowing attendees to make their own arrangements.
Are the Welcome Reception and Gala Banquet included with my Conference registration?
Yes. If you are bringing one or more guests to an event, a Guest Pass purchase is required for guest admittance to the Welcome Reception and Gala Banquet. (See above.)
Are the excursions included in my Conference registration?
No. All excursions must be purchased separately through our Tour Provider. Please visit Signature Events to register for any of the selected excursions or for more information. You are encouraged to purchase excursion tickets prior to arriving at Conference.
May I attend the excursions only, without registering for the Conference?
No. To qualify for an excursion, you must have registered for either the Full Conference or a Conference Day Pass or be a registered guest of any registered attendee.
May I transfer my excursion reservation to another attendee?
Yes. The NNA Tour Operator will not arrange any monetary exchanges for you but you’re welcome to offer your reservation to another Conference attendee. Please inform the Conference registration desk of any changes 24 hours prior to the excursion meeting time. NOTE: Conference excursions fill up quickly. Early registration is encouraged.

Is there a deadline for requesting a refund?
Yes. To receive a full refund, written requests must be received prior to April 30, 2010; written requests received between May 1 and May 22, 2010 will be assessed a $50 service charge; and no refunds will be granted for requests received after May 23, 2010.
I’m arriving at the hotel two days before the Conference. Will I still receive the Conference room rate?
The NNA Conference room rate of $99 per night is valid Wednesday, June 9 through Monday, June 21, provided you have registered for the Annual NNA Conference as a delegate. Regular hotel rates apply for stays before and after those dates, and for reservations received after the May 13, 2010.
May I check-in early or check-out at a later time?
Early check-in or late check-out is granted by the hotel as space permits.
Does the hotel offer Internet access in the guest rooms?
Yes, high-speed Internet access is available in all rooms for $10 per day, and a higher-speed Internet access upgrade is available for $15 per day.
What are my dining options in the hotel?

- M / X Lounge, large spirits and small plates
- Daily Grind, gourmet coffee shop
- In addition, room service is available and many eateries are located nearby.
Does the hotel have a pool?
The Stay Fit Gym is open 24 hours every day, while the pool is open for use 5:00 a.m.- 11:00 p.m. daily. Use of these recreation facilities is complimentary for hotel guests.
Does the hotel provide airport shuttle service?
No. Taxi service is available from both O’Hare ($40-$45 for an approximate 45 minute drive) and Midway ($20-$25 for an approximate 25 minute drive).

I didn’t receive a confirmation when I registered online. May I obtain one by calling the NNA?
Yes, if for any reason you have not received a confirmation of your registration, please call the NNA at 1-800-US NOTARY (1-800-876-6827) and a confirmation receipt will be forwarded to you right away.
What do I need to check-in at Conference registration?
A valid photo I.D. is required.
Can you recommend a top restaurant in Chicago?
