Elaine Wright
2009 Notary of the Year
Elaine Wright began her quest of contributing to elevating the Office of Notary Public as a profession in 2002. The Maryland resident has actively proposed legislation to her local legislators and the Secretary of State for establishment of Notary education and testing requirements. Honored as The National Notary Association’s 2009 Notary of the Year, Wright was recognized for her efforts to promote exemplary Notary standards and the critical role Notaries play as America’s front line of defense against identity theft and document fraud.
As an Adjunct Instructor for Prince George’s Continuing Education Department, Wright expanded the number of Notary courses she teaches from just the basic class to thirteen different subjects. Her desire to help others motivated Wright to teach a class for Signing Agents out of her consulting office. Wright holds frequent forums at the college, bringing together area Notaries with officials to learn and discuss the latest developments affecting the Notary office. Wright has served as an NNA Notary Ambassador® since 2005.
